How to save money while filling up $3 Gas

Here are some tips listed by Paul A. Eisenstein in Parade. About driving and your care:
  • avoid aggressive driving
  • use cruise control when traffic islight
  • cool off with the air conditioner when driving on the highway
  • lose the roof rack
  • back off the "bling"
  • keep your tires inflated
  • use the right oil
  • stick to the gasoline grade recommanded for your vehicle

He also has given some of the tips for filling up the gas:

  • Gas is normally cheapest on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning
  • Gas is dense when it is cold (late night, early morning), fill at that time
  • Fill it at busiest gas station, you are likely to get gas free of containment
  • Avoid gas station on toll road (they can be costly)
  • don't top off, your car burns more gas at that time
  • check http://www.gasbuddy.com to find out cheapest gas station in your area
  • and http://www.fuelcostcalculator.com before making a trip.
